For a small community club – the Carlisle Tennis Club has a lot to offer! Whether you are new to tennis, looking for a little exercise or keen to play competitively, there are a range of programs and leagues for you to join and meet some fellow members. Register online and have fun playing tennis on our courts.
House League is a great opportunity to get out and play some doubles. It is open to recreational, intermediate and competitive adult tennis players. New players should have some understanding of basic doubles positioning, be able to create a rally, serve, and follow basic scoring.
New To Tennis?
Novice adult players are encouraged to take some lessons before jumping into House League play.
Novice Adult Players
There are many players new to tennis at our CTC. You won’t be alone. Join us and find out how tennis can be a sport you can play for life. We recommend starting out with some lessons. Check out the programs offered by our Pro, Brian. Group lessons are a perfect place to start because not only will you learn to play, but you’ll be meeting other novice players just like you! Register online, take some lessons and get out there and PLAY! Have fun.
Adult Beginners Doubles
After a few lessons with our pro and some understanding of basic Doubles positioning and scoring, join other enthusiastic novice players Monday evenings at 6:30 and 8:00 PM from May until the end of September. Contact Sheetal Vyas firstname.lastname@example.org for further details.
The Ladies Tennis League is a vibrant part of the Carlisle Tennis Club. We have several times available for ladies doubles including Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:00 and 10:30 AM (July and August times vary) and Tuesday evenings at 6:30 and 8:00 PM. Players of all levels are welcome to join our fun recreational league. We look forward to meeting you on our courts. If you have any questions, please contact Sandy Howard email@example.com.
Mixed Doubles runs April 1 to Oct 31 (weather permitting) Thursday evenings for 1.5 hrs at 6:30 and 8:00 PM. The group emphasis is having fun and getting a good workout (all levels of play). You do not need to sign up with a partner. Depending on the number of players that sign up, you may not play every week. Every effort will be made to have 4 females and 4 males per time slot (ie. if more males sign up, each female will play more than each male). If you are not able to commit to the majority of Thursdays, we’d encourage you to sign up as a spare and you will be contacted when needed. Life happens, so if you are scheduled for a day you are not able to attend, please contact the spare list and advise Lynn of your substitution (pls try to make it the same sex as you). So come on out and have fun with us on Thursday nights! Contact Lynn Ackerl at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
Men of all skill levels and experience play on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM. Register to join this fun recreational night, so your volunteer league coordinators can add you to their schedules. Contact John Ackerl and Jake Rudolph email@example.com for additional information.
Learn to play progressive tennis uses a system of modified courts, racquets and balls scaled to maximize learning for different levels and/or age groups. Junior players learn and have fun developing “I Can” skill sets and “I am a Good Sport” behaviours. All lessons, clinics and camps are run by our Pro and his team. See our Junior page for more details, or email Brian Millar firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
Social Tennis Tournaments
At CTC, the focus is on friendly competition at our tournaments. For several years we have held both Mixed and Ladies tournaments which are combined with a club social. It’s a great opportunity to come out and meet some new members, play tennis and have fun! For further information, or if you’d like to help organize, please email email@example.com.
Want to get an amazing workout and improve your tennis skills at the same time? Well Cardio Tennis is just for you! Fitness classes are run by our pro throughout the week. To book, email Brian Millar firstname.lastname@example.org.
